Far-right protestors gathered outside my mosque so I opened the doors, and I’m still trying to process the emotions that came with it. It was a surreal experience, to say the least.
I was at the mosque with my family, preparing for the evening prayers, when we noticed a group of far-right protestors gathered outside. They were shouting slogans and waving flags, and it was clear that they were there to intimidate us.
We tried to ignore them and focus on our prayers, but it was difficult to do so. The atmosphere was tense, and we could feel the anger and hatred emanating from the protestors.
As we finished our prayers, I decided to take a stand and open the doors of the mosque. I wanted to show the protestors that we would not be intimidated, and that we would continue to practice our faith without fear.
The response was immediate. The protestors began to shout even louder, and some of them started to push against the doors. But I stood firm, and I refused to back down.
It was a moment of great courage, and I’m still proud of myself for standing up to those who sought to intimidate us. But it was also a moment of great sadness, as I realized that this kind of hatred and intolerance is still present in our society.
I hope that one day we can live in a world where such incidents are a thing of the past. Until then, I will continue to stand up for my faith and for the rights of all people to practice their beliefs without fear.
‘We will not be silenced, and we will not be intimidated.’
I know that this is not the first time that a mosque has been targeted by far-right groups, and I know that it will not be the last. But I also know that we will not be defeated, and we will not be deterred from our mission to spread love and peace.
We will continue to stand up for our rights, and we will continue to fight against hatred and intolerance. And we will do so with courage, with conviction, and with the knowledge that we are not alone.
We are a community, and we will not be broken.
We will continue to pray, to worship, and to live our lives as we see fit. And we will do so with the knowledge that we are protected by our faith, and by the love and support of our community.
‘We will not be silenced, and we will not be defeated.’
